Hello, Great Readers of our series! Just In case you haven’t visited before, let me tell you a little about A Great Nephew and A Great Aunt. My great nephew, Landon (a seventh-grader) and I (his great aunt) collaborate. I write a poem which he illustrates. We started this collaboration in the fall of 2014 and have had so much fun with it that we decided to invite others along. Landon and I will continue to have a new episode on the second Friday of each month. The other Fridays are filling up quickly with guests. I have created a page on my website to view all the episodes of A Great Nephew and a Great Aunt. Click HERE to visit the page and enjoy past episodes.
Today it’s my pleasure to share a creative collaboration from . . .

Susan’s Poem
Layla’s Art
Many thanks to Susan and Layla for sharing their talents with us today.
Meet Layla: Layla, Susan’s granddaughter is a 10 year old dynamo. She is a singing, dancing, artist, author, and a violin playing cowgirl.
Meet Susan: Susan Holt Kralovansky is the author of fourteen picture books, including Twelve Cowboys Ropin’, which was her first book to illustrate. Susan has always loved books and libraries. As a child, she appointed herself the librarian’s assistant requiring other children to report to her before getting credit for the books they read during the Summer Reading Program. She went on to become a school librarian and thought she had the best job ever until she began writing full time. Now, she’s lucky enough to spend her time reading, writing, drawing, and taking long walks with Madeline, her standard poodle. Learn more at: susankralovansky.com

Sounds like a great western song, and the picture shows just a drop, in secret, right?
