Hello, Great Readers of our series! Just In case you haven’t visited before, let me tell you a little about A Great Nephew and A Great Aunt. My great nephew, Landon (a seventh-grader) and I (his great aunt) collaborate. I write a poem which he illustrates. We started this collaboration in the fall of 2014 and have had so much fun with it that we decided to invite others along. Landon and I will continue to have a new episode on one Friday of each month. The other Fridays are filling up quickly with guests. I have created a page on my website to view all the episodes of A Great Nephew and a Great Aunt. Click HERE to visit the page and enjoy past episodes.

Today it’s my pleasure to share a creative collaboration from . . .

Kristin Gray and Her Son, Copeland

From Kristin: I asked my son Copeland (10) to draw a picture. He went above and beyond a wrote a poem, too.

So today we have a special treat. Two poems! One from Copeland and one from his mom, Kristin.

Meet Copeland: Copeland lives with his family at the end of the cul-de-sac. After school, he likes to draw comics, build Legos, and play with his hamster named Nugget. He is also working on his first screenplay. (It’s about aliens.)

Meet Kristin: Kristin L. Gray drinks coffee (cream, no sugar) and writes books (funny, not sad) from her home in northwest Arkansas. She loves to read, walk her dogs, and eat cake for breakfast. She will also travel any chance she gets. Kristin’s fourth-grade self would never believe she has five children, two dogs, one fish, a bearded dragon, and a shy gecko. Vilonia Beebe Takes Charge is her first novel. To learn more about Kristin, or to send her a cake, visit her online at www.KristinLGray.com.
