Welcome to Episode 9 in our series where I, the great Aunt, team up with Landon, the great nephew, to bring you, our great readers, a-picture-with-a-poem sort of thing. In each episode, I write a poem and Landon illustrates my poem. If you missed previous episodes, you can view them by clicking below.

Episode 1: An Adventuresome Moose
Episode 2: Robot Repair
Episode 3: OUCH!
Episode 4: Frolicking Foliage
Episode 5: Trick-or-Treats
Episode 6: Peach Pie
Episode 7: Leftover Turkey
Episode 8: Crumbled

Before I post our poem and picture for today, I want to make an announcement:

Landon and I have had so much fun collaborating that we want to include other collaborators. Landon and I will still be here the 2nd Friday of every month, but starting January 23rd we will have guests participating in our series, too. Our guest collaborators will continue the picture-with-a-poem thing. This is an exciting addition and I know you’re all going to enjoy it. Our first guests will be Vivian Kirkfield and her grandson, Jeremy. I can’t wait to see what they share.

Now . . .

  1. You don’t really mind me showing up 10 days late to your post do you, Penny? Where does the time go, I ask you? Where? Where? WHERE? Must be that frisky-footed bunny with the pencil behind his ear. Yes, that’s my time thief, I’m sure of it!

BTW, if you’re interested in another guest partnership at some point in the future, my daughter and I would be happy to join in. 🙂

    1. I show up late to lots of blog parties…no worries! And let’s blame it on the bunny! I like the idea of a scape-bunny 🙂

I’m very interested in having you and your daughter! In fact, your name has been on my spreadsheet since I created it. I’m just late in getting some of my invites out. I’ll send it today and you can check out the details and see what you think!

  3. I just love these, Penny, would love to do something with my granddaughter to see what she (five) would do with a poem. Your clever wording and Landon’s clever drawings always bring a big smile-so good! I love your idea of guests, too.

  4. Oh, this is too much fun! And that Landon is quite the talent. Do you see how much personality/character he put into that hare, and we aren’t even seeing facial expressions?! Just body language/stance (with one ear cocked!), and that great pencil-behind-the-ear detail. Well done! {{claps wildly}}

  5. I loved your poem — but I’ll have to say your nephew really caught the essence with his illustration. Love that pencil behind the rabbits ear. What a great idea to invite others. You may have started someting wonderful.

  6. Gah! Bunnies are so smart. All I ever do is dig in the snow looking for things to sniff. Once I found a potato chip under the snow! Mom wouldn’t let me eat it. She said the word “gross.”

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake
