2012 KidLit Progressive Poem Is Stopping By My Blog Today

April is National Poetry Month. Irene Latham organized the 2012 KidLit Progressive Poem. Watch it grow day-by-day as it travels across the Kidlitosphere. This is Day 7 and I am adding Line 7.

If you are reading this
you must be hungry
Kick off your silver slippers
Come sit with us a spell
A hanky, here, now dry your tears
And fill your glass with wine
Now, pour. The parchment has secrets
To be continued tomorrow by Jone at Deo Writer.

  2. This is perfect Penny! I am just making my way back to the progressive poem. I can’t imagine where this will be on the 16th when it gets to me–Your line was fantastic! 😉

  3. Ah…pour the wine, or pour the secrets, the news, the things that are weighing on your heart???

I’m off to Jone’s to see where she’s taken this experiment!

    • Thanks, Amy! I just met your blog through Renee’s No Water River. I am thrilled to make its acquaintance and yours, for that matter. Your talent is amazing. Being a Penny myself, I especially loved your lucky penny poem:-)

    • Thanks, Miranda. I look forward to your line on the 23! Today I was looking back at Brian Lies website at some of his other books (besides the bat ones) and I saw his book, Deep in the Swamp. The cover has alligators on it. I couldn’t help but think of you sitting in the crocodile pool!!! I loved your video and your poem!

  4. What a great idea! Your line is wonderful. I particularly like how it started maybe talking about reading the poem and you define it as reading a letter.
